Using your iPod / iPhone in your BMW Z3, M Roadster, or M Coupe

Can I install the DICE BMW iPod Integration Kit myself?

Yes, you can. Installation is extremely simple, requiring only two physical connections to the vehicle's CD changer port in the back (which are plug and play). Since you can control your iPod using the vehicle's steering wheel / head unit controls and information is displayed on your head unit / nav screen (on 2000 or later BMWs), you can leave the iPod in the trunk where it is connected. However, if you prefer to have physical access to the iPod, you will have to run a small cord to the front of the vehicle, adding some time to the installation.

Does the DICE BMW iPod Integration Kit Charge my iPod?

Yes, it does! While your vehicle is on and your iPod is connected to the DICE iPod Integration Kit, it will be charging.

Can I control my iPod using my factory radio and steering wheel controls with the DICE?

Yes, you can. The DICE allows you to not only control the iPod using your factory radio controls, but it also allows you to view track, album, and artist information! Furthermore, you are also able to use the iPod itself if you prefer.

Will I lose my in-dash CD Player? What about my CD Changer?

If your vehicle is equipped with an in-dash CD player, it will not be affected in any way and functions in conjunction with the DICE iPod Integration Kit. If you have a CD changer, it will be replaced by the DICE iPod Integration Kit. However, for most people this isn't a problem since you'll have access to MUCH more music anyway!

Does the DICE iPod Integration Kit come with everything I need?

Yes, it does. However, you may wish to also purchase a mounting bracket and/or video cradle to mount the DICE in the location shown in photos.

Installation was pretty straightforward even thoughrouting the cable from the trunk was a little bit of a pain in thebutt, but overall it was really easy. Kit works great and soundsperfect. Nice to have some tunes without having to screw with the CDchanger.
Author: Jeff Kramer Wow. If this isn the easiest accessory you ever install in your car I don know what is. It took me about 10 minutes to install and initialize this product. Two simple connections in the trunk of my Z3, plug in and sound great. Combined with the Speaker upgrade package Ive never had sound this great in a vehicle before. This is a must for your Z3!
